Dual-Purpose vs. Deep-Cycle

Dual-purpose batteries are designed to replace the need for both a starting battery and a deep-cycle battery. They can start the engine and provide service power for accessories and electronics simultaneously. The AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) battery, in particular, offers significant advantages: it boasts 20 times more vibration resistance and twice the cycle life compared to traditional flooded marine batteries. This superior shock and vibration resistance makes AGM batteries ideal for handling the demands of RVs and boats.

Charging

To maintain optimal performance, ensure the AGM battery is fully charged when the voltage drops to 12.7V. At a storage temperature of 25℃, AGM batteries can be stored for up to 6 months without needing a recharge. If stored for more than 6 months, a full recharge is required. Charge the battery using a constant voltage of 14.4±0.1V with a maximum current of 0.2C₂₀A (where C₂₀ represents the battery's rated capacity). For example, a 79Ah battery should be charged with a maximum current of 15.8A until the current stabilizes for 2 to 3 hours, but do not exceed a 24-hour charging period.
